Saab is offering a fighter sensor package for India’s Tejas Light Combat Aircraft. The package, on the display at Aero India, includes two parts:
An AESA fighter radar: featuring the latest electronically scanned array (AESA) technology
A compact electronic warfare (EW) suite using gallium nitride-based AESA technology
The radar is used to quickly discover and identify targets and the EW suite is used for self-protection. The combination of these latest technologies increase the possibilities of fulfilling successful missions.
“Saab is a world leading company in the sensor area and has equipped some 4500 fighter aircraft with radar and electronic warfare systems. This has given us wide experience of successful sensor system integration, testing, and evaluation of radar and EW systems on fighter aircraft,” says Anders Carp, head of Saab’s business area Surveillance.
