Bengt, please tell us why Saab is showcasing these systems at this year´s DIMDEX and what the visitors can expect when visiting the Underwater Systems section of the Saab stand?
Saab has a very strong and broad portfolio within the naval domain and both these systems are of great interest in the field of MCM (mine countermeasures) and ASW training (Anti-Submarine Warfare). These systems also shows that Saab is at the forefront of developing naval unmanned autonomous systems. On the stand at DIMDEX we will have the possibility to brief and show visitors how we at Saab can supply them with new capabilities for underwater operations.
What is it that makes these systems suitable for the countries visiting the exhibition?
If you look on the users and navies in this specific region they operate in very demanding underwater environments with very shallow waters that have shifting conditions. At Saab we have a long history of experience in developing systems for both ASW and MCM, specifically for shallow water operations. The DIMDEX exhibition gathers a wide audience of different Navies from all over the world that makes it important for us to display or latest products. Both the Double Eagle SAROV and AUV62-AT are unique systems based on a modular design and showcases the uniqueness of the Saab´s underwater offerings.

What are your thoughts of this year’s DIMDEX event? Anything particular you´re looking forward to?
As this is the 5th DIMDEX and focus is on maritime security our expectations are high. We are looking forward to three days of interactions with customers and fellow companies.
